Hi Guys,

I've got a Galaxy 1.9tdi 115bhp. Over the passed couple of weeks i have been getting what can only be described as a misfire. Now as i am driving i switch the ignition off & straight back on and it clears...well until this afternoon!!! I now have have a permanent misfire.

I have a feeling it's the MAF but just thought i'd get a second opinion from you guys. I have removed the MAF plug & there is no difference in performance!! Any other ideas?? Before i forget i did have problems towards the tail end of last winter when it would periodically go into limp mode, but that cleared during the summer, just wondering if that could be related??

Any advice or help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Update on yesterdays events. I left the car a couple of hours and went back out and it started & no misfire!! i drove it round the block & fine but this morning i took it 5 miles to my mechanic & it started again. The Diagnostics had picked up a fault with one of the injectors (1) my guy is going look later this morning & let me know what the problem is....he's guessing at the moment that it's the wiring thats shot as this is common....i hope so don't fancy the cost of a new injector!!!!

I had exactly the same problem. Removing and refitting the injector loom solved it.

A bit of a pig to do, but worth the effort.

That's what i'm hoping for!! Thankfully i don't have to do it

well it's not good news, i've been told it's one of the injectors. Does anyone know where i can get an injector from??? don't want to do fords as they are coming into the

Dodgy wiring loom/connectors to the injectors is a common fault. As your problem comes and goes I think its probably this and not an injector as when they go (very rarely) its permanent. If you know the injector position it should be easy to trace back the loom and check it. (Its under the rocker cover unfortunately)

Ive just done this very job to solve the very same problem as you have! but instead of replacing the piece of loom (£100.50+ vat from ford) I washed the whole loom in petrol then spray all the connectors with switch cleaner, put it back, problem gone,so saved a lot of money and agro! :angry2:

All is well on the misfire front. My mechanic replaced an injector & now it runs like a new car :D

The injector i managed to go & collect on Thursday morning from a company in Northampton

Hi guys,

since last week I do experience some king of misfire when engine cold for first 5 minutes. I have looked ad MB013 in 001 engine measuring blocks and injector values were around 0.5 to 2.99 mg/str for 1st cylinder and 0.5 to 1.5mg/str for 3rd cylinder. 2nd and 4th cylinder are around 0.5mh/str log see here.

How difficult is to tighten injector loom (any how to? )
